Founded on the Yale campus in 1920, the University of New Haven is a private, coeducational university situated on the coast of southern New England. It’s a diverse and vibrant community of more than 6,800 students, with campuses across the country and around the world.

Within its five colleges, students immerse themselves in a transformative, career-focused education across the liberal arts and sciences, fine arts, business, engineering, public safety, and public service. Work While Studying

Full-time undergraduate and postgraduate international students can work anywhere on and off campus for up to 20 hours per week without a work permit.

Post-Grad Work Permit

The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP) allows students who have graduated from a participating Canadian post-secondary institution to gain valuable Canadian work experience.

Conditional Offer Letter

Even if you do NOT meet our minimum English requirement (IELTS or TOEFL), you still can get conditionally accepted in the program of your choice with the condition of completing our English program prior to starting your chosen program.

Programs with Co-op Option

Cooperative education (or co-operative education) is a method of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A cooperative education experience (“co-op”), provides academic credit for structured job experience. Co-ops are full-time, paid or unpaid positions.

Type of Accommodation 

Students need to plan their accommodations well in advance of their arrival in Canada & the USA as all accommodation options fill up quickly, well before the start of the semester.

On-Campus Residence Accommodations: On-Campus residence accommodations are provided per discretion by the school.

Off-Campus Accommodations: The local area has a variety of off-campus rental housing options including single homes, duplexes, apartments and rooms for rent. Students wishing to live off-campus need to research availability on their own and should arrive well before the start of term to do so.

Tagliatela College of Engineering

The Tagliatela College of Engineering is one of the leading engineering schools in the country. Known for its comprehensive, hands-on education that goes beyond the classroom, the college was established in 1920 with the founding of the University. One of the best undergraduate engineering colleges in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report 2018.

Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts

Ranked as one of the best small fine arts schools in the country, Lyme continues the academic tradition of figurative and representational fine art while preparing you for a lifetime of contemporary creative practice.

School of Health Sciences

The School of Health Sciences delivers innovative and interdisciplinary allied health and health sciences education that draws on the distinctive identity of the University of New Haven and its partnerships with hospitals and other healthcare institutions across Connecticut and New England.
